B I O G R A P H Y

Cobwebs and dust covered the dark hallway as Mort made his way down to the library. Who would have thought that the apprentice to Death had to study so many books. Mort was hoping this job would be more exciting and adventurous, that he would get to be riding along with Death as he transferred souls from the living to the underworld. Instead, he was more of a servant to Death, cleaning up, cooking, and taking care of the estate.

Pushing open the large oak door, Mort wandered into the dimly lit library and slumped down into a desk chair. Staring at the large old book in front of him, he sighed and cracked it open. The words were in an archaic language that Mort was slowly learning. He pulled up a book of translations and began to read.

Mort thought, “I may be a servant to Death now, but one day, I’ll be a true Grim Reaper.”
