- - - Veso had chosen his runes readily enough. In fact, the skydancer had been one of the quickest to choose. But now once more he sat silent and unmoving, his gaze locked forward and eyes slightly glazed. It was.. unnerving to say the least.

Everything about the child, and his clutchmate, was unnerving in Akamas's opinion. He motioned for Sinaria to take her strange child from his den and the other blightguard obliged by simply giving Veso a little nudge.

The skydancer tottled on out of the den without a word. He hadn't said a peep, hadn't made a noise.

it was strange.

And strange Veso remained. He grew, as one would expect a hatchling to, but he was a little... sluggish, a little bit closer to one of the wild beasts within the Shrieking Wilds than an actual true dragon. There were slight whispers that he reminded others of the drones of the Hivemind...

However. Once in a while, someone would catch a glance of Veso vanishing off into the wilderness. Several days later, the skydancer would come back with some curious treasure and more than one injury... it wasn't long before he felt the tug at some primal part of his mind to go seek another treasure and simply never made his way back to Creakwood.

Rarely (approximately 5 times a year), the dead eggs in a Blightguard's nest may begin to show signs of life. They gain color, and begin to resemble more live eggs. if one of these previously-dead eggs comes back to life, the resulting hatchling will always be mute, and seems to possess slightly lesser sentience than it's parents, though they are not quite mindless... how strange.
