Came here to the Catacombs from her old sector of the Hewn City, which she had previously chosen as her years-long home for the challenge presented by its close proximity to Cradlewood, a forest afflicted with Shade.

As a self-proclaimed "old war mother," Evriel demands respect. Her confident attitude permeates the clan with a sense of stability. She has been living unchallenged for ages, and it will be ages more before she'd even think to question her own right to exist. No might will best hers, and nothing will ever subjugate her. Evriel does not intimidate easily, never one to back away from a fight, and she grew quite a reputation during her stay in the Hewn City. Some dragons seek her out now in hope of receiving her tutelage, but only few are determined enough to succeed in finding her within the Catacombs.

Although she has her underlings running a tight ship, Evriel does not force anyone to serve under her. Soldiers may join if they wish. They may stay if they're good. And if they wish to desert? There is no penalty. (Though that's not to say you'd be able to leave her troops without a magical gag order. Certain happenings do not belong in the court of public opinion.)

She has a very polished Professional side backed up by seasons of success, and a very hearty Unprofessional side backed up by a raucously loud laugh. Much to her own delight, Evriel puts on a good show with both sides. She loves bossing others around & being lauded for her accomplishments. If she feels like it, she'll make a subordinate hand-feed her meals. On occasion, she will let a sparring opponent land some attacks just to show how powerless they are against her. She's got a tendency to over-inflate her past achievements as a form of ego-stroking... while laughing merrily amongst crewmates who were also there at the time. The key to longevity, she says, is choosing the right ones to stand beside you. Your lives are in each other's hands.

this dragon's name changed from Adris to Evriel for a few reasons.

1) - changing away from "Adris" - she arrived showing off an arrogance that threatened to displace the standing social structure of responsibility and power. my first-row dragons are the nexus of control in this area of the hewn city; i imagine their names are the ones most often repeated by the hundreds or thousands of dragons who hear of this lair. this dragon, as "Adris," was placed next to clan leader Adja, and having two female guardians with names both starting with "ad-" would surely cause confusion.

i picture dragons bred specifically to sell as fodder as free spirits who roam the Lightweaver's territory until they find a clan whose image they'd like to emulate in the holy presence of their chosen deity. they can spend a little time in-lair to be decorated for battle or simply fly snout-first into the fray. the high-level dragons who train them offer teaching in the form of experience. surely there is no shortage of dragons heading off to serve their deity in this land of Light!
(and hey, a Saiyan becomes more powerful every time they return from the brink of death. getting KO'd a few times in the Coliseum won't kill a dragon trainee; it will only make them stronger.)

2) - changing TO Evriel - i parted with a lovely guardian by the name of Evriel when i began my nuzlocke challenge a long time ago and i was missing her pretty bad. i needed a new guardian lady to take her place in my heart, and lo and behold, this dragon moved in. it just took a long time to make the name change because i've got a certain feeling of respect toward the names past owners gave to the dragons i buy. she could have been Adris for a long time!

everything she went through in the past culminated in the individual she is today, including (if not especially) her name. it's an important thing to make note of. your name can define you!
