Chancellor Lamento is the chancellor of light in Southrest. The leader of the light region and a member of the Emperor's council, the senate of Southrest. He was born prematurely in The Center under the rule of Northrun while his mother was making a visit to the central government. Initially the northern leader wished to keep him in The Center due to few births having occurred there at that point, but after threats of declaration of war from Southrest they released his family. As he grew up he traveled a lot because of his parents, most commonly to Eastrise due to it being a close ally of Southrest. In his travels he learned a lot about the different political systems in the regions, which inspired him to campaign for the position of Chancellor of Light in the southern senate. Emperor Isabella recognized his passion for improving the region and officially gave him the position of chancellor, after which the state of the light territories has greatly improved. |
Lamento's Rule
Continuing the spread of the ever popular stereotype about the kindness
of light dragons, Lamento rules with compassion for his people.
Despite the emperor usually having the most power in the regions,
Emperor Isabella trusted Lamento and officially recognized his
leadership over the light territories in Southrest as absolute. He
has the power to pass bills over the territories without the approval
of the emperor, making him the most powerful non-emperor
government official in Almendra. Taking a lot of inspiration from
Eastrise he has enacted multiple bills in an attempt to make the
territories more democratic without going against the consitution.
He has garnered a great deal of respect from his people, resulting
in a prosperous leadership. This has however, created conflict
between the fire and light territories of the empire due to fire
residents feeling that they are treated unfairly. Isabella has
however rejected Lamento's proposals of having a democratic
rule in Southrest, stating that changing the entire consitution
in such a time of high tension between the regions could
result in weakness.
Lamento's Reforms
Lamento has passed multiple reforms that have increased the
satisfaction of the citizens in the light territories. Some of these
include public voting to decide certain small things that directly
affect the people, giving the citizens more insight into how their
government functions and more.
