When he was born, Grey was nothing more than greyish sludge seeping from a lightning egg. Before long he took the form of a pearlcatcher and his slimy body took on the texture of soft rubber. A few scientific dragons in the clan, primarily Slate and Moria, wanted to adopt him for research under the guise of finding Grey adorable and giving him a home. After swift backlash from the rest of the dragons they promised not to experiment on Grey.

While growing up, Grey would use his liquid-like powers to creep into the smallest crack, winning every game of hide and seek. He developed a strong passion for engineering ever since the scientific dragons took him under their wings. Grey began to dress himself with tough metal clothing with copper adornments to protect his soft body. Recently he began to spend time with a shadow spiral called Koko.
