Few look at him and think him little more than a dandy, but this dragon is a fierce member of the clan's defenses. His sharp, shrewd expression fits on a face like a pit viper, and at the first sign of trouble, he is found throwing himself into the fray. He loves to fight, and in times of peace, he can be found on the practice yards with members of the town guard or taking bets on who he can beat in the ring. He has trained for some period of time under Hodges, and he has learned to spot and dispatch evil spirits and the undead where he may find them. Others find him bloodthirsty, and he doesn't exactly dispute this claim, but he doesn't find it fully fair, either. He loves the feeling of adrenaline coursing through his body, the quickening of his heartbeat in a fight. He loves to feel like he is fully exerting his whole body and existing fully in the present. More erudite pursuits just haven't done it for him as much as a screaming brawl. He's since returned to his birth territory, taking up work as a guard at Primrose Manor. His looks have earned him many admirers, christening him with the flower name "Narcissus," though his desire to fight often divides them. Long periods of peace leave him restless however, and in the middle of the night, sometimes one can see his shadow sneaking away to find combat elsewhere. His captain, Gladius, often reprimands him for this, but he's taken no further action than that. If anything, it seems they've made a quiet compromise: so long as Narcissus keeps the manor safe, he's free to slip away once his shift ends. |
