Stone of day, flesh of night.
Etched from runes of since lost, with obsidian hide and crystal eyes, chosen from birth and served ‘til death. Gargoyles in name, but only just, three Pearlcatchers lay in rest.


Crafted of marsh and stone.
Girma was neither tasked nor told, but requested the duty of obelisk scale. A descendant of the original trio, she was not born with the curse but watched her mother day to night crumbling over time. While it was not a promise made aloud, she had vowed to take the older dragon’s mantle -- and when the time came and there was only one gargoyle appointed she stepped forward with her head risen high.

Few in the history of the gargoyles chose the life so willingly; the want of the sun’s warmth, the deterrent. But for Girma, it was the responsibility which came from the curse -- the ability to protect the clan at their most vulnerable. The imperials of the clan believed that was their doing, but Girma knew better.

Tasked with the surroundings of the Western Gate, Girma stood with pride and honoured the mantle of her mother.
