amethyst is a cold, harsh dragon. it was orphaned at an early age and quickly had to learn to survive in a dog-eat-dog world. thus, it's learned to be brutal and hold few things precious. it quickly found work as a hirehand, willing to do others' dirty work. anything from simple manual labor to acting as a hitman. as long as it gets paid, it's willing to do it.

it originally met aquatic through a business deal, as she'd often hire it as an extra set of claws when she visited the scarred wasteland. mostly just to help haul cargo and such, as she was put off by the idea of it needing to act immorally for a living, but she'd occasionally go to it for more nefarious purposes when she knew it was the best dragon for the job.

her conscience got the best of her one day when she came to it one day and saw it clearly struggling to get by. though it took some prodding, she convinced it to join the crew. it still tends to do a lot of the crew's chores and dirty work, but now by choice, and without relying on it as its livelihood. it still occasionally finds work when the crew stops on the mainland, but with the help of aquatic its slowly learning to settle down and live a (somewhat) normal life.
