Eyod

Eyod had never been connected to the Lightweaver. He had never heard her voice, he had never felt her presence. But he was very, very good at pretending that he had.

The oldest of his siblings, he was the heir to his family's name, fortune, and status. He mingled with the other nobility with practiced ease; he wormed his way into Calemvir's inner circle. When Mokain took up a role as captain of the guard, he tried to convince Eyod to follow; but Eyod, afraid of what a war might bring, remained to look after his own estate. So as Mokain found glory and honor in his duty, Eyod found isolation in his, quelling his envy for his brother and putting all his energy into keeping up his role.

It came as no surprise to him when Luna his betrothed confessed that she loved his brother more than she would ever love him.

But although she did not love him, he loved her, and he wished for her happiness. So he allowed her to marry Mokain in secret. Eyod and Luna's wedding was extravagant, but to them it was nothing but a confirmation of their friendship. And Eyod, truly, was all right with that.
