B I O G R A P H Y
______Once a mighty queen, Lani had a large following who had a nasty habit of making powerful enemies. She hardly ever lost her wars even though her people hated her for the unnesicary invasions, they somehow still followed her as when they were out of war she was kind with the spoils. A very screwed up leadership. However Lani soon realized soon that either she would have to marry and produce heirs or let it crumble on top of her dead body.
______Not wanting challengers much less kill her children for her throne or a husband who may slaughter her in her sleep, Lani began to seek out hidden magics for immortality. Her long search had many failures and near death experiences from shady dragons seeking to assassinate her. Until one day, she found the answer she had been searching for: a witch coven.
______Many witches of many species were gathered around a cauldron, actively adding ingredients to the steaming liquid. Putting on a brave face Lani marches into the light of the fire.
A creature resembling a pangolin but had many glowing runes all over its body spoke first
?: Well lookie here, that vision we saw earlier came to fruition a lot sooner that we expected Lani: You know of me?
?: Of course. We know many things about you… Seeker of Eternity Lani: then do you have what I want? Is it already in that cauldron?
?: Before you do anything sit down
*The runic pangolin hands her a bowl of the stew as Lani takes her seat* Lani: This easy?
Finally a (creature) spoke up
??: This is just dinner. We heard your stomach rumbling in the vision and when you approached our camp.
*sensing Lani's unease of the stew the (creature) began to eat* Lani: sooooo about my immortality?
?: Not gonna happen yo- Lani: Oh it will happen!
?: You didn't let me finish Kalani Lani: it's just Lani.
?: Lani, Kalani, Kamalani, Pualani, nobody cares. Your name came from a place that holds paradise in it's many small lands… common for it to have many similar sounding names between different seas. Now if I may finish your majesty, we cant do some things without a great sacrifice. Lani: I didn't come all this way just to turn away now.
*the witches began to snicker*
??: are you sure you want to go through with this dear? Lani: what's the price? I can win wars for an eternity to satisfy all your gold needs.
?: Oh sweet naive little queen. Something as high as immortality can't be bought with MATERIAL from the surface.
Lani: Then…. What am I paying in?
*Lani's entire body suddenly explodes in pain and a vision starts, showing her people dying and her castle crumbling*
?: You paid with their lives!
B I O G R A P H Y
______Lani wakes in a field unlike where the witches were camped out. She remembers her vision and begins to cry. After a couple days of wallowing in misery she begins to wander looking for her kingdom in hopes to rebuild all that she had lost. She wasn't fully convinced that her vision was true anymore. Hungry, thirsty and tired, Lani comes across a small village. jumping with joy she runs into the heart of the town only not to receive her royal welcome she was expecting, she was the only survivor after all. She was only met with concerned faces on everyone. Lani: What's happened? It's me Queen Lani! You know ruler of (kingdom)!
?: Dear where is your mother or father? Lani: why do they matter? I'm the ruler not them.
*Another dragon laughs at her*
??: She's just playing sweetheart, everyone knows that (kingdom) fell about a millennia ago.
?: She's still a hatchling that doesn't know where her parents are!
*Lani's heart sinks* Lani: A millennia ago? That's impossible.
?: Is everything alright? You look pale
??: Hatchling it's very possible everything and everyone just died and crumbled you must never go there, it's cursed land. Lani: wait… hatchling?
??: Oh I'm sorry, your name was lan.. Lani yeah that's it sorry.
*Lani runs to the nearby fountain only to see that she does look like she freshly hatched*
______Lani in her fear of her own self fled the village. She often thought of the couple that she met but couldn't bear the thought of going back to be a burden on them to help her. She wandered for weeks, thriving on worms and berries as her tiny wings in her already exhausted state prevented her from flying. Until eventually she found herself roaming in a vast vineyard. Lani began to happily eat all the different varieties of grapes until she hears a gigantic thud near her.
?: damn these stupid vines always getting caught in my feathery wings! I really need to perfect that plant manipulation concoction soon.
*It is now Lani decides that she is desperate for help* Lani: H-hello? Who's over there? ?: ****! ****! FINE I'll get out of your damn garden!
*An Imperial pokes his head around the poles providing the growing vines structure* Lani: what?
?? Lani: only if you help me ?: No go back to your parents the coatls in our clan are not your colors, you're not from here nor are you in our records of adoption. Lani: EXACTLY I'M LOST ?: Shhh! Sh! Keep it down fluffy. Lani: only if you help me or I'll scream louder! ?: Ok ok ok! I'll help you. Lani: how can I trust you? ?: Ohhh you're making this so hard kid. Lani: my name is Lani! ?: Ok Lani, I'm Crux. Let's see how can you trust me? Well aside from the fact that you know I'm not supposed to be here I'll save that story for later. For now how about you help me collect these grapes without getting caught by the owners and I'll turn them into a juice perfect for children and I can easily make them into popsicles too. Lani: I don't want to commit a crime! Crux: then sit by the wall and give me a minute.
After Crux collects a couple branches of grapes Lani sees him leave a small pouch of gold. Lani: you're paying? Crux: ofc I am! I'm not a terrible dragon! It's just that I lost my right to be here, I'll tell you later. Now c'mon Lani.
Crux easily scoops her up, climbs back over the wall and takes her to his home. [/size][/right]
______After Lani told her story while eating popsicles, Crux allowed her to stay with him for a bit. He made the condition that they would see the clan leader, the other Coatls and the clan witch, Umbra, in the morning. While Lani was incredibly surprised that he just accepted her story, she was ever grateful for his kindness as she drifted off to sleep.

______Morning had arrived and true to his word, Crux made her breakfast and set out to find Elvira the clan leader. Upon finding Elvira, Crux left after promising Lani that she's welcome in his home to wait for him when he comes back.
Elvira: you don't have to live with Crux he is a great teacher but not a father. Lani: He's a trickster but he'd never hurt me… I can feel that he is ultimately good natured. Elvira: well if you change your mind hatchling, we can arrange a home for you with Rishi until you grow up.
/He hasn't told her? I suppose it is an insane story/ Lani: Crux is fine.
Elvira took Lani to meet other Coatls whom all assured that she's welcome to ask any questions. Phenea made lunch for Lani and she fell in love with his food. Once lunch was over, Elvira took Lani to see Umbra.

______Umbra was sitting in her cave reading a book when they arrived. Her lair smelled like bitter citrus and smoke. Umbra: The Seeker of Eternity.
*Umbra bows before Lani* Lani: You know my story? Umbra: There is much more to witches than you know, most of my life I have been plagued with visions of your arrival. I know so much about you and other prophetic creatures that will come into my life at some point. Before you ask: you will never rule again. You were a terrible ruler and if you were to rule in today's era you would be slaughtered… if it were possible.
*Lani looks down, once again haunted by her actions* Lani: So if I'm nothing special at all why would visions of me be a part of you? Umbra: I did use the term harshly, they didn't plague me… they were annoying to see your face pop up every now and then with a nice migraine to follow. You can now imagine why most witches aren't pleasant with prophecy children and whatnot. The visions were telling me to guide you. And your options are slim. Lani: What are they? Umbra: you can wander alone forever, I don't recommend that just because you are immortal doesn't mean hunger and thirst suddenly vanish. Or you can find a clan to call your own and live peacefully. Lani: Are you sure I can't rule? I know you said I can't, but I can build from scratch. Umbra: Your price.. aside from the you know hundreds and thousands of lives you sacrificed, conditions were inflicted within the immortality: you shall never be in a position of power that deals with lives. You can work alongside but never on top. Lani: Were there visions were I live happily? Umbra: Stay here. Crux may be mischievous but he genuinely cared about you and I could definitely use an assistant. Elvira: Well I guess that settles it then Lani. I'll grab a fresh set of records and we can officially adopt you into the clan.

______Lani was adopted into the clan and began to love her new life, she has accepted her role to be a cute little assistant to any in the clan. While she arrives to help everyone she mainly helps Crux, Umbra and Rishi. Crux trusts her to buy anything from Sangria and Granache's vineyard. Rishi absolutely adores that she helps the hatchlings behave as a baby with an adult mind is very inspiring to real hatchlings. The only people Lani will ever rule. And Umbra began to use her for a story that she's a poor Bogsneak looking after her adopted daughter to get cheaper items at shops. Occasionally Umbra brings around another hatchling, who seems to have the same curse but under less violent backstory, to help her with such tasks.
