Biography

Suffer My Blessings

The ark was supposed to float on the surface of the waters, but the weight that it carried made it sag beneath. Animals that couldn’t make it sank abandoned to the bottom, but when the hull of the ark brushed their backs, they reached upwards and sunk their claws in, pulling it down even further. The great wooden behemoth began to break, shattering like a delicate mosaic beneath the onslaught of both divine and mortal wrath. Boards were torn like paper, and many more creatures found themselves falling into the foamy torrent. The cracking of wood sounded like a volley of gunshot. When the water finally won, only a few soggy beasts remained, clutching on to floating shards, drifting further and further away from what was supposed to be their salvation.

“This wasn’t supposed to be how it happened!” Cried the lions, the King and Queen of beasts. “We raised you! We served you! We dedicated our lives to making your will a reality!” Their grips began to slip on the slowly submerging wood. The water turned crimson and frothy. “Why did you do this to us?”

Sadanvague smiles to himself, lounging bonelessly on a rotten throne. “You wouldn’t understand,” he mumbles to no one in particular, tail flicking to-and-fro. Hair and feather fall out in clumps, though his delicate silks seem just as immortal as he. To any other, this... “kingdom” would not be one to be proud of. What once was a great castle now lies in cursed ruin, what once were lush crops and peasant housing are now swallowed by the thorns. But to Sadanvague... his bulging, dead-fish eyes gaze upon a land carefully sowed, soon prime for the reaping.

“It was for a higher purpose!” He cries suddenly, reedy voice piercing the air. A few restless souls stop their wanderings, turning to glare suspiciously at Sadanvague. He’s their self-proclaimed “leader,” though many have found he doesn’t much move from that stupid old chair.

He has to glue the feathers back in. The hair, well, he just takes a needle and thread and sews the roots. Soft, rotting skin gives way to opal— sunken, in his doughy flesh, but still alive, thrumming with power and warmth. “Clarity Village” is what they call this place now. Sadanvague tolerates it, but only because he can’t remember the original name. Their untrained eyes see nothing but dirt, but to a dead man, the difference is like night and day. Every surface is carved in shallow, deliberate writing. The myriad altars have been slaked with the blood of his “kin”.

Sadanvague did none of this out of malice, you must understand. Nor even out of some childish craving for power (though perhaps that had a hand in it).

No, this was all done for a reason. A reason beyond any of these small-minded dragon’s understanding. True Fae, fickle and cruel as they were, required great sacrifice to form.

• a cursed changeling prince, immortal and rotting and utterly devoid of any sort of understandable code of morals. he’s undead, for all sakes and purposes
• the only thing more bloated than his ego is his sense of entitlement
• puts on the attitude of a charming and debonair prince, though no matter how soft his voice, how friendly his smile, those dull eyes of his are forever cold
• loves to play tricks and pranks on the dragons around him. whether they’re harmless or not depends on his mood for the day
• has declared himself “clan leader” but only in name. Sadanvague has no interest in leading, nor does he make any effort towards it
• prefers to sleep near others so he can leech away their warmth like the greedy zombie jerk that he is >:(
Can you imagine waking up and a literal evil corpse is spooning you

Form when bought, but I felt this look and color combination fit him more. He was bought as a fodder rescue.
