Uh-oh, looks like this wishy-washy romantic wandered a little too far from her home lair (#385984, ZippoFeuer), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to her home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. Please refrain from exalting her! Please only trade this dragon on travelling dragon threads, as opposed to places such as the Auction House. Joiera would like to receive a permanent home (and mate) someday, so if you'd like to adopt her after she's been traveling long enough, just let her parent lair know!

ZippoFeuer - Starry-Eyed Starts

Oh, what a tragedy- there weren't any cute dragons around here. There was a grouchy inventor fae, the inkeep, and a reclusive doctor that she suspected would just as soon die of a heart-attack as talk to a potential suitor. Don't even get her started on the other dragons in this tiny hamlet. It was a wonder her dad found any love; and now that she was old enough to be concerned with romance (how many young-adult romance novels had she read at this point?), she was doubly confused- because it seemed that her dad didn't care to find one mate, a forever-lover.

Absolutely not! She knew, for sure, that she would someday find the perfect dragon, and then live happily ever after. Just like in the stories, you know?
And for years, she stayed in Faewood, genuinely hoping for that special someone, that would sweep her off her feet and be the key to her happiness. It really had been years that she waited.

Packing her bags, she stood at the door. "Dad," she called; "I'm heading out."
"When're you coming home?"
"I'm not sure. When I come back, I'll have a boyfriend, though."
"That's nice." Her dad's eyes remained locked on his painting for a second, too focused as always. Two seconds. "Wait- what?"
But by then, she was out the door and already well on her way to searching for her perfect lover.

Silverbolt1159 - A Failed Experiment

The first clan Joiera stopped at showed some promise. Lots of very lovely, and very eligible, bachelors around. She took her time meeting all the boys she could and eventually hit it off with a nice one named Resin. He was a very nice dragon, attentive and caring and from a prestigious background.

Maybe she was rushing things a bit, immediately going in for a nest despite only Resin for a few weeks. But she wasn't interested in what was "sensible" or in "thinking it through", the dragonesses in her novels never worried about any of that so neither would she. She was in love, Resin was wonderful, of course they should take the next step as soon as possible!

In the end Joiera was starting to think maybe the books weren't as accurate as she'd thought. She was also beginning to understand why dragons used words like "crush" and "honeymoon phase". As time wore on Resin just seemed less and less amazing... he was a nice guy, dependable, decent at romance, sure, definitely the kind of boy mothers wanted their daughters to settle down with, but he just wasn't knocking it out of the park for her. He was understanding, at least, when she decided to move on to greener pastures.

QueenRed - Accidents Happen

For Joiera it seemed like maybe love wasn't in the cards. She'd travelled to another clan, on the smaller side, and none of the bachelors were both good looking and good natured. There were a few males that passed her standards, but they had already chosen their mates. So instead she would pout in the corner.

She had been there for several days now, without a drop of love in sight.
Now would be a good time to bow out.

She had been on her way out of the clan territory when she ran into Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Handsome. She flirted for hours and the two really seemed to hit it off-- that is, until his perma-mate arrived back into the territory, and just when Joiera seemed to have found love.
There is still somewhere that must have love in the cards for me.
She took flight.
