Once Shae's eggs hatched, Naamah began feeling more and more like an outcast in the observatory. He started neglecting his studies in favor of afternoon flights around Focal Point. Naamah loved the rushing wind through his feathers.

One day while he was out flying, he decided to head to the Crystalspine Reaches. The colors of the crystals in the sunlight reminded him of his life before the observatory. It felt so long ago. He stared at the reflected sunlight and tried to remember some of the pastel dragons back home.

Naamah was shaken from his trance. His forehead was erupting with vibration! Naamah swooped to the nearest crystal to get his bearings. He'd never felt this before but somehow he knew what this meant. Magic! Huge amounts, rising up from the crystals! He had to inform the others.

Upon returning to the observatory Naamah noticed things had progressed rather quickly. There were several new dragons and some hatchlings with no obvious parents around. One in particular caught Naamah's eye, a rose colored hatchling. Jester.

After some time Naamah finally found Shae and informed her of the powerful magical enegry radiating from the Crystalspine Reaches. For hours, the two discussed what they could do with this information. They eventually came to a conclusion. Naamah was to take a few dragons back and set up a base camp so they could begin harvesting the magical energy in case they found a use for it.
