extremely adept with a trident and able to swim at impressively high speeds, current has been seeking adventure all her life. the clan she grew up in felt idle and dull, when what she wanted was fast paced excitement. once she was old enough, she and her best friend (and future mate) marianas left their clan together to explore the ocean's depths. they eventually travelled across land and sky as well, but always returned to the water before long. on one of their adventures, they found a peculiar young mirror in a small lake. he initially lashed out at them, despite clearly being a hatchling, but after a few days of their presence he calmed enough to allow them into the water. he didn't speak much, but with what he did say they learned he was actually older than he looked. he had been living in the lake his whole life, hatching alone and fending for himself since birth. he claimed to have chased out other dragons who lived in the lake, and the pair found this believable. when, after a few weeks, the pair made to say their goodbyes the young mirror - moonburst - insisted on coming with them. and so, current found herself to be a mother. after a while of the trio travelling, another joined their family: a graceful, elegant, quiet ridgeback who had somehow found herself attached to their aggressive, brash, nearly feral son. the four visited the carrion canyon in their travels, and took lodging with foster as a temporary measure, planning to move on after a short stay. that is, until they found a small entrance in the back of the cave that lead into an underwater network of tunnels - a vast maze that would take years to explore fully. with the help of gallatea - who had grown quite close to cadan, becoming a mother figure - they made the entrance larger and more accessible. from that point on, the four of them stayed. because of her strong affinity to her element, she was granted primal eyes and the honor of being the water representative of the clan.
