Biography

As Project's brightest are always experimenting with new models, using different parts, bodies, code, anything to produce new results to create a new major line of working android. One test was being conducted to try to create a program that would allow for a model capable of harboring natural curiosity, while being able to maintain an unconscious state. The goal in mind was to create a model of dragon able to assist in research of all sorts. The true outcome however, while still technically succeeding, would fail the one crucial element -- staying non-sentient -- and would escape their control.

Operations Recruit 10 - OR10, the last copy of his experimental model. Only 10 were made, all of which would be watched under different controlled environments. OR10 was designed to know only the basics, and was assigned to a group of fledgling researchers to test how much he would strive to learn on his own. He was hardwired to emulate dragon-like curiosity, and so the young, inexperienced scientists would grow attached to him. They would help feed his curiosities and even allow him to assist them in tests, eventually allowing him to accompany them in the field. It would never occur to them that OR10's personality would soon cease to be a fabrication.

It was on his first outing with the group that he saw the night sky with his own eyes for the first time -- and he was absolutely taken by it. His programming was struggling to accommodate for the surge of, what seemed like, emotions caused by the sight, and he shifted his focus from the test to only this. His natural curiosity turned into a passion for the stars. Of course, those who were in charge of his care would be none the wiser.

It would take a few weeks before the group started asking questions. Their assistant could no longer stay focused on the various projects they worked on with him, and he would almost exclusively talk about wanting to learn more about the world outside of their own. He craved to see the night sky, and would think of nothing else until he could again. The team, assuming something might have gone awry with his code, elected to keep him shut away until an official from OR10's branch would come out and assess him. During those few weeks of wait, however, the android would be so taken by his love for the stars that he would adorn them on his own body -- his midnight covering how a dazzling display of the image he had seared into his metaphorical eyelids.

When his creators had finally arrived, they were enraged by this display. OR10 would react with fear to this -- something he should never have been able to do had their project been successful. They would label him defective and immediately whisk him away from the group he had grown to consider his companions, which caused a distress he would not know how to handle. He was so new to these experiences and everyone around him acted as though they were a problem. He would have no proper time to try and process this, however, for the ship he had been transported on was raided by a FL/GHT Rescue team.

It was with them that he was able to learn that what he was experiencing was not only common, but considered normal. He was able to really stretch his wings here, and be taught about himself and his passions. After much consideration, he would take on the name Orion, after a fabled constellation he had yet to discover. It reminded him of the name he cast away, so as to never forget the brothers he found himself responsible for losing.

He would be assigned to the Medics to become an engineer, where he'd be able to put his knack for research to good use in repairing his fellow androids. He would learn through the grapevine of Intelligence dragons that the other 9 models of his group had been effectively deactivated and destroyed because of his display of independence. What became of his group of researchers was never discovered.

Soon, he would be assigned to a remote location to help repair units in locations farther from their main hub. He would be sent to the quiet Clan of Labradorite Spring, a clan of dragons known to take in any and all of dragonkind that are looking for a quiet place to live their lives. It was perfectly nestled in an area of the Viridian Labyrinth that was often hard to reach, as well as full of dragons who would not only embrace him, but his passion as well. He'd be able to comfortably research the stars as he saw fit, alongside the help of their resident astronomer Lore, as well as Arcane researcher Lux and his young assistant Cyroa, while also doing his duty with FL/GHT to repair the units dispatched to that area as needed.

It's a relatively calm area compared to the many that the organization is needed, so he would be allowed to spend much of his time dedicated to his passion.
