The chiseling Whei was born in the Wispwillow Grove of The Tangled Wood, and is the daughter of an Earth-blessed Fae mage who practices Wind magic. Years ago, her innate talent of scrying the future attracted the attention of Clan Empyrisan's leading pair, Auraelesmatra and Satoragdos, who asked her join their newly formed family. She is one of the longtime residents of the lair, and acts as a grandmother, albeit a very snippy one, to many of her clanmates. Hatchlings and young dragons fear her.

The elderly Pearlcatcher foresees events of all kinds, but ill omens often plague her visions. Due to a lifetime of experience, Whei is hardly fazed by what she sees, but will turn away any fainthearted dragons from knowing the truth. "Dragons from the world over will come to me, seeking to know their misfortune. I would respect their bravery... if only their reactions could compare."
