Biography
It isnt often a Mirror dragon settles down to start a lair and raise a family. Foresight was just one of those exceptions. Hatching in an abandoned lair in the desert (likely having just been a temporary nesting site), he spent the first moments of his life fighting. Fighting the harsh, unforgiving landscape and the equally harsh, equally unforgiving inhabitants of said landscape. The tooth and nail grind toughened him up, left him untrusting and cold. By the time he was an adult, his days were spent in mostly solitude. But with no one around, he felt bored.
To combat his boredom, Foresight took up tinkering, expertly swiping tools and electronics from bigger, more elaborate nests. As he filled his days with construction and electronics and working, the mirror couldn't help but begin to feel a heaviness radiating around him. At first, it was an occasional pause during his working. When the clanging of metals together dulled, and the heavy silence that would always follow was almost crushing. Foresight's pauses became longer and more frequent in the following weeks, and sometimes all he could do was set down his tools and curl up on the ground, closing his eyes as the silence bit and tore at him. It was awful. He couldn't figure out why the silence of his singularly inhabited den was slowly driving him crazy.
And then he met Lisil.
It was an incidental meeting, honestly. A not-so-uncommon sandstorm had blown the little golden Fae right into the small lonesome lair as Foresight was working on a clock. Clocks were a favorite of the Mirror and he didnt even notice Lisil until she'd spoken up.
"Hello?"
The single spoken word startled Foresight, and he tensed, dropping a couple cogs in the process. Turning around, his four blue eyes locked on the tiny dragon in front of him. He was surprised there was another living being in his quarters. Wandering up closer, he stared down at the Fae.
"Hello, yourself," was his response.
Lisil stared at him with her big blue eyes, ear fans trembling. This dragon was quite big, and could definitely hurt her. He leaned in. She closed her eyes, fearing the worst. This was the end, surely! Though, she had to admit, his bite was quite gentle--
Wait a minute, this wasnt a life-ending bite. It was a....nuzzle? Foresight was nuzzling the Fae. The touch was gentle and, well, the touch starved male was clearly enjoying himself. Lisil, unsure of what to do, cautiously ran a hand along his cheek. He responded by laying down, and nosing the female dragon up onto his head, before going back to tinkering with the clock. Lisil was....very confused, but just sort of went with it. Soon, they struck a conversation. Foresight was a little awkward in the way he spoke, unused to long conversations, but he was polite, and Lisil was just glad she hadn't been eaten. Their exchange lasted long after the sandstorm outside had died down. And when Foresight invited her to stay with him, she agreed.
Foresight and Lisil are now bonded as mates. Foresight often carries Lisil around on his head, and Lisil often tends to the usually minor wounds her mate sustains after days of wandering out, scrounging around for more materials to use. The two have their own little atrium carved away from the main den of their lair, where they can spend their days talking and enjoying each other's company.
