oriole has never done anything in partial measures. when he sets his mind to something, it will be completed, one way or another. it’s a reasonable disposition for such a traveller to have, but oriole does have an odder reputation for a reason, too. taking after those of his home, oriole is an exceedingly jovial spiral, if overbearing to some. he never quite grasped the art of being still. both his claws and his jaws are in a near-constant state of activity, movements flighty and maw a steady source of chatter. it’s no surprise, then, knowing the intensity of his explorative career, that oriole is a definitive bundle of energy too. with his talkative tendencies and almost hatchling-like wonder for the world, oriole is aptly named: just as chirpy as the bird he’s named for, with the flightiness to match. on a less outwardly peculiar level of his personality, oriole is a deeply caring dragon. nevertheless, he knows how to be quiet, when necessary. whether a cat needs some gentle reassurance or his usual jubilant burst of affection, oriole is passionate about supporting each and every dragon in the keep however suits them best. while he couldn’t find it in himself to hate anything, oriole has a veritable dislike for being discounted as naive. the word implies some level of unintelligence, for the individual in question to be as cheerfully idealistic as himself. the assumption couldn’t be further from the truth: oriole is an experienced dragon, after all. he’s seen a great deal of the best and of dragonkind over the course of his mapping journeys. still, despite all that, he firmly believes kindness to be a choice anyone can make. a certain few choose it less often than others, but that’s alright; oriole is patient, even though his fidgety demeanor might suggest otherwise. all some need is time. |
