Buckthorn, or Buck as she prefers to be called, is a very forlorn dragonelle. She did not always possess this quality, but having to murder one's Charge will do that to a Guardian. Regardless of her emotional strife, she serves as Squire to Elsewhere's soldiers with determination and conviction. Ever since she was a fledgling, she dreamed of knighthood. As of yet she has not been elevated in rank, but she still retains the same passion for her duties as she always has.

Buck spends much of her time alone these days when she isn't training or catering to the troops. At times however, she can be seen in the company of her close friend, Andali. The two were both very rebellious as fledglings and formed a close bond because of it. When the Elsewhere Clan's allies from the Ashfall Wastes visits, a Pearlcatcher called Keaa often accompanies them. He and Buck become inseparable during these times, though little joy is found between them. Their bond goes deeper than blood and bones. They are connected at the soul, having been forever bound to one another when they faced the Shade-Touched in the Fortress of Ends. As Buck has grown and matured, Dreadnought has found himself attracted to the dragonelle, though he'd be loath to admit it.

The only one that can claim to be Buck's constant companion is her Familiar. On Buck's first away mission, she joined Zhairo and Dixon in the Scorched Forest. Buck found a Gyre's nest that had fallen from its roost. One tiny hatchling, a wisp of smoke really, was trapped beneath it. Buck brought the Beast home and cared for it until it was old enough to fly. She attempted to release it, but it opted to remain with her.

Fun Fact: Buck lost a few inches off her tail tip in a training accident.
