Has made tentative friends with Kiyoko along his travels; they send each other letters which take weeks to deliver due to Kiyoko's shifting residence in the wild swamps.

Eventually made his way down to Eidolon's port where gambling games are aplenty among the stevedores and decided to stay for the foreseeable future.

"Gambling is not a vice, it is an expression of ourselves. We gamble. Some do it at the gaming table, some do not. You play, you win, you play, you lose. You play."

You can scarcely believe about three of the things going on in front of your eyes right now. One, this gaoler has plunged his entire forearm into an open Lockjaw's maw. It's still attached to his body. Two, he's pulling up his arm now, and there's literally a fistful of jewels in his grasp that looks like it weighs collectively more than most dragons would make in five moons.

And three, he has slapped the entire palmful of it onto a gambling table without a second's hesitation.

Having taken to a life of idle travel from his youngest days, Casinochip is lazy when it comes to labor and self-care: a meal tastes better in his mouth when prepared under the claws of another dragon, clothes have no expiration date to him even riddled with holes, and a bed is warmer when rented from an inn. Why take measures to sustain himself off of his own efforts when his Jawlocker spits out the means for him to continue a life of ease on a daily basis?

Finding the Jawlocker bare isn't exactly on his list of concerns, either (if you're wondering what is, it's slightly-too-big-spiders, bouts of insomnia, and death, in that order). Whenever the opportunity presents itself - and indeed it does often, in the kinds of taverns that he locates first in whatever clan he visits - Casinochip places bet after bet on gambling tables. And always, that money returns in double-fold. He simply has the golden touch when it comes to that sort of thing, as if his very will to not work manifests through his uncanny ability to guess which pair of claws is holding aces, or which cup the ball is under. Casinochip's collective winnings from games of chance could drown a lesser clan's hoard - not that you'll ever hear him brag about anything to that effect. (He's lazy, not arrogant.) All that exists of this highly intelligent gaoler's fortune sits inside of his Jawlocker's belly, enchanted to hold near-infinite weight. Many a dragon has seen the abrupt end to their lucky streak go down this chest's gullet in one fell swoop...

His talent has gotten him the boot from quite a few establishments, a list of which he keeps fastened to the inner hood of his familiar should he find himself in a familiar area and forget.

Attempted robbery by highwaymen and unsavory dergs of all sorts is an unfortunate commonality in Casinochip's travels. Fortunately, he's a great actor, and his performance of flailing and sobbing as he reaches into the Lockjaw for a measly clawful of treasure that barely skins the surface of his wealth - the rest of which his Lockjaw is able to physically "swallow" beneath its floorboards, masking it from prying eyes - gets him off of the hook every time.

The Lockjaw was a gift from his father, whose knack for magic earned him recognition from Sornieth's top mages. Casinochip occasionally squares off against a few of his father's colleagues, which serves as his way of catching up on home affairs.

Casinochip isn't actually his real name - how convenient would it be if it was? - but he figures that some sort of "stage name" to accompany his talents is in order. After all, his plan before discovering his knack for gambling was to become a member of a traveling play-troupe - which turned out to be way too much effort for his own taste.

Lazy as he may be, he deplores cheating (and the notion that he does so to explain his luck, even more). His games are nothing but fair.
