Aurora

Leaching: A hydrometallurgic process in which a solution is introduced to a mixed material to dissolve the target component, extracting it from the unwanted aspects.

In an unforgiving environment like the Blacksand, you don’t get far without medicine. Unfortunately, you don’t get much medicine, either— between the relative isolation of the clan’s site and the climate and terrain, most known medicinal plants are in short supply.

That doesn’t stop Aurora, or even really slow her down. Her mission is to help the sick and wounded, wherever they are, especially those who would be without it otherwise. She took an oath about it, in point of fact, with the Sisters of Saint Scalia, but no one calls her Sister Aurora. They call her Auntie, sometimes, though. She has some magic for healing in a pinch, but her real focus is on finding ways to grow what they need, or developing new treatments that bypass the need for herbs altogether. She’s very careful and very patient, but, if you’re willing, she would like to try an alternate treatment on you that she’s working on, and she’s mostly sure it won’t make your scales flake like the last one.
