Gold is actually weaker than her scales, so it is said that the plating is to show off her riches. Kulve Taroth does collect a lot of gold and surrounds herself with it, bringing unnecessary amounts of coins in satchels everywhere she goes. No matter how in debt the Clan is, though, she never shares her riches. She does not touch gems.
