| When Komaeda first hatched, his feathers appeared to be dark grey, must to the dismay of his parents, but he soon dried off and was revealed to have colours identical to his father. "Good fortune", his parents said, relieved that their hatchling was not sickly; however, they kept a close eye on the hatchling as he grew. He may have thought them to be over-bearing, but it was for the best. Komaeda quickly proved that he was not the strongest of hatchlings. There was nothing wrong with him physically, but, to put it simply, he was just not as strong as the other dragons his age. "Fragile", his parents said condescendingly, pulling Komaeda away from the other hatchlings, "we just don't want you to get hurt." |

As it turned out, Komaeda didn't like to fight, anyway. He had no ambitions of trapaising through the wildnerness to fight Longnecks and Centaurs. The mere thought of hurting another creature made his stomach churn, and the sight of blood would undoubtedly make his breakfast re-appear. And so, Komaeda seeks refuge in books. And as luck would have it, the Clan had such a need for just one more scribe. From pieces of parchment that had been rolled for so long that one needed rocks to hold it flat to leather-bound tomes written over the course of a lifetime by a anould get his claws on. His favourite, however, are love stories. |

| Komaeda enjoys nothing more than to immerse himself in a sappy story oozing with cutesy nicknames, endearing glances, and proclimations of never-ending love. So enamoured with romance is Komaeda, that he actually began to envision his clan-mates taking the place of the characters in stories. But simple fantasies soon turned to reality as the Coatl began to coerce is clan-mates into, at the very least, sitting through a lovely sunset together. And it turned out that Komaeda had a knack for playing match-maker, as nearly every couple that he has set up has ended up declaring their undying love for one another. From simple scribe to a reputable Cupid, things continue to fall nearly into place for the fortunate Coatl. |

Indeed, his meddling in the affairs of others is the only deviance in Komaeda's (somewhat) timid personality. He prefers to keep to himself, requiring only the company of his books over other dragons. However, Komaeda does his best to treat his clan-mates kindly and tries to be available to lend a help whenever it's asked of him. |
