Only the cold moonlight lit up the scene. She felt the Icewarden watching her from a distance. He had visited her last night, and had praised her, much like what she had heard in the stories of Polaris.

The Wildclaw, who was violently attacking another dragon, tooth and claw, was His most prized creation. The other, a Skydancer, refusing the fight back, absorbed the attacks with yelps of pain.

"Stop, it Ana!" her victim cried out, but the Wildclaw's attacks did not cease. Her brain had turned off and she only knew one thing: that she wanted to fight. She wanted to hunt.

That is, until one of the nursery's nannies came over to them and broke them up.

Anastazja had once again gotten carried away during a playfight with her close friend, Artemis. The Fae who broke them up picked the Wildclaw hatchling up as she growled and squirmed, trying to get down. With ease, the young Fae flew away with the Wildclaw and placed her away from Artemis. Once the Skydancer was out of sight, she went limp in the Fae's arms and sighed to herself.

"Come on, Ana. You know better," the Fae said to her, her tone stern. Anastazja glanced out into the distance where she had seen the Icewarden minutes earlier. He was gone now.

"I was just playing around, Missy," Anastazja replied sharply, craning her neck to look at her captor. The Fae placed her down on the other side of the nursery and she spun around to face her. "Artemis is one of my best friends. I'm only making her tougher for the future."

Missy was unimpressed. What she said next made her stomach drop. "Stay in this corner. I'm going to go get the Cesarzowa." And she left her alone, her mind racing. It was usually said as a scare tactic, but one day she really did get Polaris. Now, every time, she was afraid.

Primrose, her best friend, whom she was closer with than Artemis, noticed her fearful expression and approached her after checking up on the Skydancer. "You're going to get yourself in a lot of trouble one day, Anastazja."

And by the Ancients was she correct.

Now, Anastazja stood before their clan's leader, and before the clan itself. Artemis and Primrose stood in the crowd behind her, horrified. With a gaping jaw the Skydancer cried out to her as Primrose wrapped a solid wing around her. The Wildclaw ignored them, and glanced past the Cesarzowa before her to spy the Icewarden's faint silhouette in the distance.

The two Wildclaws' eyes locked. The words left her jaws as a strong voice, but they felt like a powerful, booming bellow:

"You don't belong on that throne, Polaris."
