Biography
Ayden, the Gemeye
Magic Reborn, they called him. Incomplete, half gem, illusory.
There was an unfinished quality to his external limbs. Pale white, they were, with wrinkles in skin and scale appearing as the faintest of lines. His horns seemed to fade to nothing, his wings and limbs fading into thin air. It was as if his entire being was captured in his eyes, and left the rest of his body to fade away to sketch lines.
The one thing no soul could deny was the life held within his eyes. They glittered like gemstones, a solid cyan that matched his face and neck. The color splashed his back, and nothing else, leaving chest and limb to the pale color of unfinished nothingness that caused so many odd stares as he grew.
And yet, the boy still smiled. Ayden joked and played, sharing bright smiles with any who would look. His gift for magic was strong, and he slung lightning and water in equal measure. Pale hands would mold storms in glass balls to share with friends as easily as he would share a joke.
Oftentimes, Ayden's thoughts would become overwhelming. Was he a mistake, the gods simply overlooking a infinitesimal part of their creation? Did his creator simply forget to finish him? Or was he created like this, half colored and half blank? Was it a part of his gifts? Would anyone be able to tell him?
He brushed the thoughts off like water, lettting them roll down his cyan back and into nonexistance. No matter what others may say, he is stil here, he is real. And he's vowed never to let anyone tell him otherwise.
A mistake by the gods or magic reborn, it matters not.
Ayden Gemeye wears his name proudly.
