Biography

Long ago several of Arcane ventured into the Mire, Long ago not one of them returned.

It's always been speculated, written off and filed away that the poor souls had perished and that the Mire is no place for any dragon or research and thus it has been left alone, unexplored and rarley ventured into. And the scholars arent wrong, the Mire is vile and twisted, spitting out bone and flesh under a seemingly normal at first glance. It is said a veil drapes over it, lures unexpected souls in promising the calm and tranquility of a beautifully forested area, only to unfurl its lips and snarl at you with gnashing teeth, a false lullaby.

But while the scholars are right, the Mire is dangerous, they were wrong in assuming it wasn't survivable. Tales tell of small dragons silhouette being spotted at the edges of the cursed land, flighting around, weaving, dancing, living among the trees, shrubbery and hunger of the Mire. Those who have seen her call her the twisted guardian. "She is a dragon" they say, "but the Mire, instead of killing her it BECAME part of her. She isn't right, she looks sickly but she lives, she wears a bandanna over her eyes, but nothing ever escapes her gaze, she is small, perhaps a fae, but her strength is unrivaled by the Mire."

Some venture foolishly in trying to prove the myth, most do not come out alive, she isn't a god or a deity, she cannot help them all. Those who have seen her all tell their own separate stories of her. Some make her out to be a monster, others say she is but a whisper in the trees, others speculate she was one of the Arcane few, a specter of one of them trying to finish her research. Whatever she is they all agreed on a name, Mira. It has many meanings, both good and bad, and although it may seem silly, naming the specter after the place it resides in, the name stuck and no one dares to change it. Mira the guider, Mira the bane.

Mira, echo of the Mire.
