Born in the Plaguelands, Kylas doesn't exactly come from an academic background. Like most plague dragons, his childhood was focused mainly in his survival. It was not a happy existence, but it was all he knew. Several years he passed with only the small joys of collecting bones and artifacts and reading any book he got his hands on just to earn some knowledge. Although he kept mostly to himself, he ended up hearing word about a college in Dragonhome, and his curiosity peaked. Despite the risks of making such a journey on his own, he was willing to take them for that chance at happiness he felt was there. He did decently at some of his classes, though he failed one of his majors in not a good way.

Despite that, Kylas managed to gain some renown on his own, until finding himself in the Atheneum as the Head of Archeology. It is not such a glamorous title, considering there are only two other dragons that make his field their study besides him, but he takes pride in it nonetheless. Him and Paeve don't seem to get along much, but it's not surprising to kind Karius using the skydancer as a perch while the two chat or research something together. Considering the chemistry between the two, some of their clanmates often wonder if there is something between the two, but that remains to be seen.

 Despite the years, Kylas has still kept a good collection of bones overtime, which he takes great care of. Considered perhaps a bit morbid by some of the others in the Atheneum, he cares little for their opinion in this particular matter. Gifts of well curated bones are always a sure way to earn his gratitude, as Karius would know.
