Gale's Thoughts: Akeno
The Ichor's crew must be far too accustomed to minor explosions, what with having Akeno on board. As the crew's demolitions expert, he's constantly devising new ways to make things explode, and if one were to stand out in Purlieus Hagalaz when the ship is docked, they'd probably hear a loud bang every hour or so.
I am not at all surprised that Tweedledee latched onto Akeno like a leech and didn't let go. Aside from being a brilliant chemical mind, Akeno tells great jokes, is prone to performing daring aerial feats, and has a circle of interesting acquaintances who supposedly throw some fantastic parties. Akeno's an arcane dragon through and through, born and raised in the Astrolodome. The Arcanist himself might have chewed him up and spit him out, that's how thoroughly arcane he is. And he embraces it, Gods almighty.
Akeno throws himself into the winds of change without looking, trusting they'll guide him where he needs to go. Unlike most light scholars, I've noticed that the arcane minds often let their experiments happen naturally with little outside prodding, letting the truth divulge itself over time and with shared experience. Akeno is no exception. He asks, "Will this thing explode?", and if it doesn't, he moves on to the next thing. There's no intense soul searching to find out what exact combo of ingredients might be useful with that first thing, he just uses some of the old tried and true explosive combos with it; if it doesn't work, it doesn't work, and he'll find something that works better.
This lack of dedication to a singular component of a project baffles many on occasion (including myself), but it must be effective for Akeno, because he's got no shortage of things that go boom.
When he's not working, he's talking excitedly about whatever crosses his mind in a very stream-of-consciousness manner (very akin to many spirals, I've noticed), or fawning over his mate, usually airborne, preferring to do almost everything while flitting about. And when I say fawning, I do mean fawning. Akeno has literally screamed about how much he loves Tweedledee from the top of the Celestial Citadel, the Skulking Obelisk in the Zenith, the largest mast on The Ichor, and the uppermost cliff overlooking the Cove on multiple occasions. I've learned to read fae crests decently well in my many years living with them, and I can confidently say that Tweedledee does not mind in the slightest that he's in love with such an exhibitionist.
Akeno loves loud, talks loud, and works louder, and in a clan where many members are a little too quiet about what they get up to for my taste, it's refreshing to have a dragon around who makes sure you never have to play a guessing game about what's going on with his life.
