From a young age Rubyclaw has always had an interest in plants, especially flowers. This interest only grew as she aged and with so much lush and vivacious plant life within the forest, Rubyclaw is one of the leading experts on plant research and potion making. Due to her vast knowledge, she receives multiple letters per day asking questions about various fruits, flowers and other plant life. Within the Midnight Forest Clan, Rubyclaw's friendly demeanour makes her a much beloved and trusted friend amongst dragons within the clan. The one exception being: Slade. She always found him to be too boisterous and rude. On the other hand, he always found her too stuck up and suspiciously nice. The two of them seemed to settle on a mutual dislike of each other, that is, until Fizz happened. Fizz and Slade were inseparable. They seemed perfectly paired and seemed incredibly in sync with one another. Rubyclaw and Fizz were always good friends, Rubyclaw admired her strength and her expert strategist skills. Unfortunately, one day on a hunting expedition tragedy occurred and Fizz was captured and slayed by centaurs. Ruby was distraught and wallowed in grief for days, engulfed with sadness at the loss of her friend. A few weeks after the tragedy, Ruby caught sight of Slade with his and Fizz's young daughter (Flowerpetal), Slade seemed to be telling the young one stories about her mother to help her drift off to sleep. Skydancer's are incredibly empathetic creatures and even from a distance, Rubyclaw could sense the great sadness emanating from the small family. She decided in that moment she would do anything she could to help her old friend's mate and child, and whilst he was initially resistant to any help offered, eventually Rubyclaw and Slade fell into a mutual toleration of each other, and it's rumoured that sometimes, they were even caught laughing and joking with one another (not that either of them would ever admit to that). |
