Waylen

Waylen has a very soft disposition for a Gaoler, which may not mean much for other dragon breeds but has always set him apart from others of his kind. As a Keeper, his duties extend to caring for and protecting lesser Shade-free creatures and plants (what modern breeds sometimes refer to as "familiars" and "gardening," respectively), as his delicate nature is seen as ill-equipped to deal with even remnants of evil. This usually does not bother Waylen, however, as he finds much joy in his duties. For this reason, he often gets along with Guardians, especially those with similar charges. He does not care much for Tundras, however, as he views them as a caricature of himself. Also, what self-respecting dragon of such high heritage could possibly devolve to eating plant matter? It is a mystery to him.

Although Waylen does not oft resort to violence, like all Gaolers he can be downright terrifying when his fangs and claws are bared. His duty is to care for his wards at all costs, as well as to defend against any Shade-ridden creature that may cross his path. He was taught how to fight effectively by his parents since he could stand, and his large size and thick mane make him an impressive, intimidating sight.
