- - - The first to hatch from the latest nest, Vemius was the first to be nudged before Akamas to stare for several moments at the bones scattered across the leather hide. At the very least, he looked confident. He was one of the less hesitant hatchlings lately, when it came to choosing their bones. And while his choices seemed to be very deliberate, it was if the hatchling had no doubt in his heart of hearts that his choices were right.

Pillar. Wind. Metal.

"Ahh. A strong child. A strong leader to come to bear..." Akamas murmured as he looked at the three chosen runes, then the little ridgeback who had sat back on his haunches to await his fate.

- - - Vemius was true to his bones. He had a distinctly... combative streak as a hatchling, loving to rattle his spines together to intimidate others (...usually just the local wildlife, to be honest), but wouldn't let a soul touch his clutchmates. The tug of wanderlust, the desire to make his own path and find a new clan (or perhaps found his own...) was hard. The wind seemed to have a tight grasp around the ridgeback's heart, and by the time he was a drake, Vemius left Creakwood's territory, seeking a new home of his own.
