Biography

Cormac
Injured Yet Strong

"QUOTE HERE"

Role

No official role

Role Description

Cormac, like most other dragons in Clan Allurminth without an official role, is one of the dragons who are on the chore list. He's exempt to most jobs due to his injury, and often volunteers to do work more than he's randomly selected. He enjoys more labor-intensive work, but he's usually unable to do that now, so he's been enjoying kitchen duty and light gardening for the time being.

Personality

Cormac takes after his father, through and through. He's stubborn, uncouth, and really should learn when to keep his mouth shut sometimes. Unlike Labolas though, Cormac doesn't have the luxury of being unable to die and stay dead. Cormac thinks about everything in a simple way so that everything is easy to understand, and if something isn't easy to understand, Cormac tends to ignore it. Due to how he's trained his mind, Cormac is great at thinking of simple solutions to problems and tends to get irritated whenever other dragons overthink something. He used to be bolder and a lot more adventurous, but getting injured seemed to have quelled his adventurous spirit.

History

When Cormac was little, he so badly wanted to travel around Sornieth with his father, Labolas and the dragon that had his father's charge, Afton. Labolas would always refuse, insisting that where they were going was much too dangerous for the little hatchling. Cormac persisted though, drawn by the possibility of adventure and discovery. Eventually, Labolas caved just as Cormac was reaching adolescence.
Labolas and Afton took Cormac on a simple trip, simply just to Yiurelth. Labolas made sure that they didn't take a trip through anywhere particular dangerous, like the Scarred Wasteland. Afton was unexcited at the prospect of a much longer trip, but Cormac didn't mind; he was too excited to go exploring and see someplace other than one covered in ice and snow.
The trip started well enough, Cormac helped out as much as he possibly could. He took the initiative to set up the fire, forage for plants or firewood, whatever he could. He wasn't allowed to hunt, which disappointed him, because he'd been practicing how to hunt in preparation for the trip, but he was just glad to be out of the Southern Icefield. Then the incident happened.
The three were crossing through the shores of the Sea of A Thousand Currents when Cormac lost his footing on a particularly high ledge. He slipped down the rocky cliff-face, tearing a wing in the process before he plunged into the ground, the impact going mainly through his back legs. It happened too fast for Labolas to do anything besides be at his son's side as quickly as possible. Afton used what medical knowledge he had to treat Cormac's wounds, but he specialized in diseases, not injuries and Labolas had long forgotten how to treat field injuries. Cormac was barely conscious when Afton and Labolas managed to stop the bleeding. Afton and Labolas abandoned their camp and supplies and made for Clan Allurminth was all due haste.
Upon arriving at Clan Allurminth in about a day's time, Cormac was still unable to stay conscious for more than a few minutes. He was taken straight to Vita and placed in the infirmary. His injuries were treated properly, all the while Labolas and Draled never left their son's side. Cormac fully regained consciousness the next day.
Labolas eventually had to leave, but he assured Cormac he'd return as soon as he could. During the time he spent in the infirmary, Cormac had a lot of time to think. He reevaluated his goals and wants and decided that his desire to explore had been foolish and he'd deserved this. He promised himself to stay in Clan Allurminth unless absolutely necessary,

Injury

Cormac injured his hind legs when he was a hatchling, almost an adolescent. They've been healing very slowly and they might be damaged forever, but Cormac doesn't mind that much. With permission from Vita, Cormac has been learning how to walk once more, trying to work through the pain putting weight on them causes. Cormac is a very slow walker and needs to take breaks often, or else his hind legs will give out on him, but otherwise, he can function as a normal dragon.

Other

- He's fairly normal, weirdly enough. (Labolas' children tend to be... strange)

- He has not gone on the Search yet and doesn't ever plan to.

- Heals extremely slowly.
