|ABELIA THE PRIMAL OF THE SEEKER ORDER|

"I am not that of ice, or of earth or of nature. But a being of the gaolers and that I shall always be.
I may be cast out, forgotten, shunned, exiled. But I shall continue on with my task to find it. For now I will travel with these other outcasts, perhaps they can teach me something about this world."

"Uh, Legend-y! May want to uh, check this out." The bogsneak blinked down at the ancient dragon growling from her hiding place, goop leaking out of his eyes. From the trees a skydancer glided down, her scales seeming to hold a gloopy texture. "What the- what are you doing out here?!" This dragon also had the curse as Abelia knew it, with snowflakes spiralling down her face. "Get away!" The gaoler growled, wishing she had been taught mage abilities to combat these intruders. Her horns were fine but the bogsneak's strength and teeth could probably tear a horn off. The skydancer she could sense had powerful magical ability, and from her stance battle ability too. She didn't want to be her foe for sure. She had the instinct to try and capture and contain these dragons who also shared her curse. Perhaps the gaolers would take her back if she- "Well, if you won't answer the first question, who are you?" The skydancer questioned further "None of your business!" She spat back, trying to sound confident and annoyed, instead sounding hurt and scared. "You're a primal, solo gaoler in the middle of the Viridian Labyrinth. Bit weird isn't it?" The bogsneak blinked, slightly confused. "If you must know, I am Abelia the Primal of the Seeker Order!" She scuffled back, the ferns pressing into her. The dragons wandered closer. "Get away! Get aw-" They pushed past her without even hesitation to her message. She sighed, seeing no other option than to follow them in her 'temporary camp'. "-seriously! Those gaolers have no idea about decoration and comfort. Just look at that bed!" She heard the skydancer say. She bit her lip to stop an instinctive ramble about how the Icewarden's guards did not need comfort or pleasure or anything else that softer breeds idealised but rather to be a true gaoler and fulfil their purpose. No, not anymore. She stalked over, wishing the curse of her flower-filled gaze didn't hinder her sight as much. The pair of dragons were murmuring to each other about something. "Why are you on your own?" The skydancer asked yet another question, her eyes narrowing. "Well I,, I have the curse. I see you two have it as well," "What curse?" The bogsneak let out a snort. "Your eyes... they hold the curse..." "Curse? Ma'am these are earth-blessed eyes! Thank you very much!" The bogsneak retorted back. "Curse? I worked and killed and spent centuries mastering my powers to get these!" The skydancer said at the same time as her companion. Abelia didn't know how to respond. All of the gaolers she met saw it as a curse, an impurity from the ice frosted eyes of her people. "Well I- I was told they were a curse!" She hissed back with sudden hostility not much different from that she faced herself. "What is this?!" The large, muscular gaoler before her hissed, his eyes dark with white pupils, "This cannot happen! A gaoler with a blessing of another deity!" "Impure hatchling! This is what happens if you have eggs in foreign ground!" A different Seeker hissed, this time the anger directed at someone else - her mother. "What about you? Neleh the Brave? Are you going to protest about your own child?!" Her mother turned to another gaoler with a growl. Abelia crouched, wanting to whimper but holding it back in fear she'd be yelled at even more for it. She didn't want to hear yelling and fighting. As the dragons kept on growling and arguing, she ran into the undergrowth. This wasn't the first time either, the group would be better without her. That's what gaolers did - they did it for their deity. For the greater good. But who was her deity? Icewarden or Gladekeeper? As she ran, a single yell rang in her ears from behind her: "Good riddance! Cursed creature!" ![]() |
