Fen is a male dryad, called a Drus by other of his kind, native to Evermeet. He grew up in the forest belonging to the gold dragon Ishvalra, and had become friends with her hybrid son, Iankas. Having been older than the young boy, Ishvalra trusted Fen to watch over Iankas and prevent any potential accidents that came with his mischief. They were close, declaring each other best friends, but Iankas had gone missing the same day that Kograath the red dragon invaded, slaying Ishvalra.

Since his tree was already small as it was, Fen had spent his time since then slowly trimming it smaller and smaller until it was small enough to pot. Once he potted the shrub sized tree that he shared his soul with, he took an elven boat across sea in order to escape the tyrant dragon now ruling the forest, holding the plant in a bag on his back and taking a single lonely sparrow with him. Said sparrow had nested in his tree for several years, and would often rest there. He named the small bird he had named [forgot her name lmaoo]. Once on the mainland, he saw it as his duty to find Iankas, searching for nearly two years until he found the boy camped in a forest outside of a small village, acting as an undercover bounty hunter. Fen crafted his own bow from oak wood, and the two began travelling together, the dryad protecting the dragon boy despite Iankas insisting he could now hold his own.

To this day, the two are inseparable. Fen is more trusting of others than Iankas is, but is quick to act protective of the other when in any situation he deems suspicious. Because of their poor experiences with others, they tend to stay alone, happy enough travelling side-by-side, alongside [sparrow name]. Fen is open only to Iankas, showing him a softer, caring side of himself. Fen loves collecting small items, stones and scales easily catching his eye, and will decorate the pot that holds his tree with what he finds, either sticking them in the dirt or attach them to the outside of the pot with adhesive.
