itty bitty snippets down here
-everyone in the clan chooses their name. whether they choose to keep their old one or change to a new one- if they even had one at all- is up to them. it may take days, weeks, months- even years before coming to a conclusion. there is no rush to it, and the others will accept any name that they choose.

-breed change scrolls are... difficult to use. even more so with ancient breed change scrolls.
-with modern scrolls, it's a change to body and, partially, soul- if it doesn't have a third requirement.
-a dragon changing into a pearlcatcher will have to shape their own pearl somehow- so a bowl and valuable object are used to help form it.
-changing into a skydancer feels overwhelming, especially in crowded areas due to the gaining of sensing vibes- while a skydancer changing out may feel more empty and lost.
-
-imperials are rare, expensive, and potentially the most impossible and tricky breed to have for a breed change scroll. legends have passed of many who have tried to sacrifice their valuables for one, just to either fail or manage to barely scrape by- but chances are, that joy of obtaining one might be torn asunder as others have managed to create their own versions of an "imperial breed change scroll" out of shade and disguised with light. everyone knows about the tale of the king who was betrayed, the betrayers who forged the scroll screaming as karma caught up to them. no one wants to experience that.
no documentation explains the full effects- they used to exist, so long ago, the dragons who could answer how it felt and how they changed- but now there's rarely anyone to give their speech. those that can are old, old enough that they don't recall- but there is one warning.
don't let another imperial approach, or else there may be a new emperor roaming around.
-ancient scrolls have a more intense change of body, and lose their genes due to the extreme change. soul matters are more advanced during this, too
-aberrations are currently the most advanced. a dragon could either jump into the wyrmwound, do it with a friend- or volunteer to split their own mind in two. the wyrmwound and friend options are the easiest to do, but splitting the mind requires another dragon that can help perform the task.
-auraboas are alike skydancers- just without legs. it may take a while for the dragon to get used to potential other voices in their dreams at night.
-newfound dusthides may den closer to their families- if they even have one in the area they live in. they tend to gain a knack for storytelling

-sandsurges and gaolers must get used to the removal of their flight- and also manage either the long fur they've grown and the new, large antlers they've grown- minus their nose itching every time something shade-related appears- or the newfound interest in creating mechanical monstrosities or burrowing deep underground- ignoring the newfound curiosity and intense independence they've gained.
