Maxwell and his twin brother Arthur are the twin sons of two of Home's most well-respected leaders, Baruch and Rysio. The younger twin, Maxwell (or, as he is more commonly known around Home, Maxie) has always thought that he doesn't really seem like his parents' son. Maxie has never been very good at not comparing himself to his brother. As a Dark Sclera dragon, Maxie's magic doesn't align well with known elements. As he was learning magic, though, Fire magic quickly became his best. Unlike Artie, who was magically gifted from a young age, Maxie always had trouble controlling his magic. His greatest fear is losing control and accidentally burning someone he cares about.

A kind-hearted and well-spoken dragon, Maxie almost always felt like "the bad twin." His more laid-back and optimistic personality makes him a natural foil to his brother, and he's never been as academically driven. Maxie's just as smart, though, and he has chosen to devote his life to helping others. Trained as a doctor, he specializes in non-magical healing, and is quickly emerging as one of Home's best healers. When he's not working, Maxie can often be found with his brother, their best friends, Addy and Rhys, and their Uncle Gatsby on some adventure - Maxie has quite the knack for getting into trouble. His fears of losing control of his magic manifest as a very cheerful personality - he's discovered that it's easier to retain control when he's happy, so he can often be found making jokes. In particular, he loves puns, and has a few up his sleeve at all times. Perhaps because of his Fire magic, he has a very fast metabolism, and needs to eat much more frequently than other dragons do. Though he's naturally a more reserved and introspective dragon, his facade of constant cheerfulness can cause his family to get worried when he's being quiet. Despite his insecurities, Maxie knows he's made the right decisions with his life, and he knows that helping other dragons is his calling.

Behind the Name...

Maxwell is a Scottish habitational name meaning "from the great stream."

**Though born in Light, Maxwell is a Dark Sclera dragon with very strong Dark Sclera heritage, and his eyes do not match the element of his birth. Neither his eyes nor his most potent magic manifest as Light; Maxwell has Plague eyes and Fire magic. Not recommended for further magical study.
