Biography
The Legendary Vessel of Steel
The Stormrider is a powerful ship, a tanker-galleon combination pulled from the depths by Davy Jones himself.
It was given a mind of its own, a consciousness and a conscience. Davy Jones left the ship to roam the open seas all on its lonesome, able to reload and fire its own canons on a whim. It was constantly followed by an impenetrable cloud of fog, no ship was ever able to catch it for its speed was far too great. Whenever a ship managed to get close it would slow and disappear into it's fog wall, only to suddenly have vanished once the fog dispersed. Myths came to fruition, legends started to rise around it. Every crew wanted to get a hold of this powerful ship, to use it for themselves. They started to plot and plan, to create elaborate traps and work together to stop the ship and claim it as their own.
So the ship fought back. Instead of running from its pursuers, it turned and readied its canons. Over the years, tens of ships were destroyed in their ventures to catch it, until the ship grew too powerful and confident for its own good.
One fateful day, the ship managed to steer in beside Davy Jones' own and fired its canons to take him down. But it underestimated the power of the sea god and he cast the ship into disrepair. It was covered in constant, flaking rust unevenly scattered over its hull and then beached on a deserted island by the furious captain. Years passed and it began to become simple legends and myths once more.
That was until it was discovered by Tides. Tides arrived on a different ship under the lead of a different, cruel captain. He pleaded to the old ship that he be allowed to be its captain, to claim it as his own. The dragon's whirpool eyes caught the attention of the ship, curiosity sparked and it deemed the tundra it's captain, only so it could get off the wretched island it had been left on. It was ordered to destroy the ship that the dragon's former captain owned, then its crew. Then the new captain, using his natural and powerful affinity for water, summoned a large wave and slid the ship back into the sea.
Impressed by the captain's power, the ship reconsidered disposing of the dragon and the two of them remained together. Now, Tides is one of the most feared pirates on the sea, and the Stormrider a sure sign of death.
