- Hatchling Biography
Darkmoon hatched on the new moon, hence his name. He had two siblings. One never hatched, and the other died just a few hours after his birth. Though they loved him, his parents were cornorstones of the clan and couldn’t spend too much time with him. This led to him spending a fair amount of time on his own. He rarely ever talked, he just… observed. He seemed to know everything about everyone.
One day, he observed one of his older clanmates for a few hours. He then walked up to moonstone and said: “Dad, I think he’s going to die today.” Moonstone brushed this off at the time, trying to reassure him. But like he said, he died that day.
Ever since that day, everyone believed him and he was always right. But no one thanked him for it. In fact, they thought that he was some kind of twisted prophet, or that he was cursed by the dark moon. Either way, he became a pariah, and even his own family feared him.
- Adolescent Biography
When he was old enough to, he became a hunter, and one of the best at that. But that didn’t stop him from observing and noticing things to come. In fact, he predicted natural disasters at times. He never got along with any of his peers, and he never tried to. He seemed completely content observing. That is, until one day.
- Adult Biography
Darkmoon sat by a river just outside of Hunnybee territory. He was paying close attention to how the river moved, and to every leaf moving with the wind. Autumn was coming. Then, he heard the footsteps of a dragon. This was now the territory of The Pungent Berskerks? He thought. I’m barely out of Hunnybee! A realization went through the now fully-grown fae. They’re going to attack soon, I know it! I’ve got to tell someone! His heart was seemed to be beating out of his chest. But wait. He thought. If I predict something as big as this, they’ll definitely think I’m cursed. Plus, I’m not even sure it was a Pungent Berserker. He decided to stay quiet until he was sure.
But he was right. Only a few days later, the war that had changed their clan forever had happened. And during this battle Adelphia was killed. And for the first time ever, he wept. “I should’ve told someone!” He cried. The other dragons looked at him in horror.
“Why?” Asked his father in tears.
Nobody spoke after that, but he knew what they thought, and he wasn’t even sure they were wrong.
He was the curse of the darkest moon.
