Yanya

Yanya's egg was abandoned in the mottled forest between the Sunbeam Ruins and the Tangled Woods. It was found by a guild of thieves, causing quite the uproar among their group. Who would abandon an egg there? Was it alive? What were they to do with it?

Before any of these questions could be answered, Yanya hatched, silencing all discussion. Upon seeing her, the decision to keep her was made almost immediately, with anyone who disagreed being quickly shushed. The egg was abandoned - and had they seen her little horns? Her wide innocent eyes? How could they not keep her? She had nowhere else to go, and besides, they had a penchant for taking things.

And so, Yanya was raised by a guild of thieves. The story of how she came into the group was not one they hid from her. During her youth especially, she was curious about the whereabouts of her family and the circumstances surrouding her abandoment, but as she matured Yanya eventually let such things go. She had a family - one that wanted her - she didn't need anyone else.

Raising Yanya was a communal job, one undertaken by every member of the guild in different ways. She wouldn't say she had any true parental figures, but a series of dragons who acted as elder siblings. Some would say this led to some of her trickster tendencies, but Yanya would only smirk in response to such accusations.

Due to her upbringing, she has always seen the guild as her family. She is fiercely protective of them, refusing to leave any dragon behind or throw them under the bus. At the same time, being raised and trained as a thief from such a young age has made her incredibly skilled, all of which made her the best choice to lead the guild when the former leader stepped down. Yanya has taken to the role wonderfully, and her guild has become infamous throughout the Sunbeam Ruins.

Despite her reputation as a cunning thief and a vicious enemy, Yanya has a soft spot for hatchlings. While not known to babysit for anyone other than close friends, she gets along quite well with hatchlings, and can be found playing with the hatchlings of the guild on occasion. She is particularly gentle towards the younger dragons who join the guild, especially those who are blatantly running from something, and make a point to take them under her wing.
