You can rarely lead a clan without having an open mind and heart, and Emery was living breathing proof of that. She leads alongside her wife Mason, and the two are Glowlight's faithful leaders. Upon Jackdaw's Clan showing up, Emery jumped at the chance to help them live alongside modern dragonkind. They deserve a chance just like any other dragon! Emery is sure of that, and in a lot of choices she makes, maybe that is what makes her such a great leader for Glowlight. written by goodorbadluck She’s been staring at the same lines for the last five minutes. Emery has read and re-read them, but she’s still not sure what they say. That’s probably a sign. With a groan, she sits back, rubbing her muzzle. When she’d looked outside earlier, the sunlight outside had been enticing, drawing her out of her comfortable rooms - but now, she only feels hot and slightly dissatisfied, papers placed to either side of her on the bench. An imperial and a guardian stride past, dipping their heads to acknowledge her. She’s relieved that they seem so deep in conversation; she may be the clan leader, but she’s not in the mood to talk to anyone right now. Her eyes catch the glint of golden jewelry, and she mentally amends her statement. There’s only one who she could talk to right now - and said dragon is heading her way. Mason stops in front of her, eyes flicking assessingly over Emery’s no-doubt disheveled state. “Love,” she says, passive, “Can you answer something for me?” “Why am I outside? Only the Lightweaver knows,” Emery grouses, reaching to cap her inkwell before she goes and spills it. That’d be just her luck. “Thought I’d get some fresh air. Be proud of me.” “Well, yes, but that wasn’t it.” Emery blinks and Mason is suddenly much closer, head tipped to the side. She only catches the glimmer of humor in the fae’s eyes a heartbeat before Mason asks, “Why are you so perfect?” “Dear,” she groans, biting back a laugh, “Don’t be silly and help me clean up. I need a break.” “I mean it,” Mason protests, even as she allows her wife to pile papers into her arms. “Here I am, just minding my own business - walking along - and the deities themselves feel fit to grace me with a vision of beauty. Really, Emery, what do you have to say about that?” As Emery stands, Mason flicks her crests up, shaking her head. “Well, I’d ask you - what if that was just your wife, and you’re walking around in a daze? Because that’s crazy talk, it is. Or do you have heat stroke?” Mason sighs, a beatific smile crossing her face. “It’s a good day, whenever I hear the words your wife in casual conversation.” Emery bumps her shoulder, smiling. “Then I hope everyday is a good one.” “It is, love.
