Biography

Caim fell from the sky one fateful day, in a Light Egg. He was raised by the Ice Flight after being born, and his white scales reflect that: they adapted. When he was young, he didn’t have his golden sheen or his orange firefly friends, he was almost indistinguishable from the other Ice Flight dragons. As he was about to go live off on his own one day, his adoptive father told him who he really was: a dragon sent from the sky in a light egg. Caim didn’t have any idea what to do with this knowledge! So, he continued his life as normal, until arriving at the Light Flight territory. He decided that this would be his new home. All immediately bowed their heads to him, somehow knowing who or what he was. It turns out that in the ancient texts, it read that a Wildclaw would one day arrive from a far-away land to save them. The Imperials that lived there were beginning to go extinct from being too slow to hunt the now-adapted prey. Caim was an expert at hunting, however. So, he was willing to help them, still considering this whole thing a bunch of strange coincidences. Eventually, he hunted down enough food to feed the Imperials, and mated with them to create more dragon diversity and allow for better hunting within their tribe. The Light Dragons were grateful for this. There was a second prophecy etched on the stones, though. The hero of the Light Tribe would have to undergo a challenge to achieve their true power they were always intended to have. Caim still wasn’t sure of himself. He was still young, and wasn’t up to a challenge such as this. He had to go battle a great beast that was terrorizing their territory: the now-corrupt Ocean Lord. He was once the hero that brought his species to land and chased away the Stormy Ones. But now, he had lost his mind, and wanted to raise the sea over all the land to make it his own. Caim noticed that the longer he stayed the higher the sea level got, so maybe the prophecy was true. Eventually, waves began to crash against the side of the cliffs, seeping onto the land. This was higher than the water had ever been before! Caim knew he had to do something, but what? He then had an idea. He was born with glowing light eyes, so he used them to blind the great sea beast. After many days of restless fighting, with the entire tribe helping, Caim had won. His eyes were more powerful than ever, he was able to sustain a glow without burning them out. Caim decided to stay in the Light Tribe, becoming their emperor. His many workers defended the land, while the female Wildclaws catered to his every need for him. Caim became a slacker, somewhat. The elder of the tribe remembered about a third prophecy. When the hero was at his highest point, a foul beast would come to drag him down to his grave. Nobody knew what it would be. Many years later, a foul beast that brought a horrid smell with it arrived. It was titanic, even bigger than the Imperials. His skin was made of wood, but it seemed to be rotting. Black flies flew out of the cracks in his hide. He called himself Emperor Rottenwood, the king of the Plague Tribe. Him and his warriors wanted to take over the territory, and moments after saying this, his huge army came up behind him. There were far too many of them for the guards to take on, so Emperor Rottenwood entered Caim’s palace.... Caim was very unprepared to take on such an opponent, so he went down easily, leading to some believing he had died. But no. Instead, Caim was sent to visit the Lightweaver in the skies. He said that Caim would get a second chance, if he could redeem himself and rise past his former glory. Eventually, Caim reached his previous power level, and was able to take on almost any opponent. But The Lightweaver said he could go even further. Caim questioned this at first, wildly confused. How could he ever become stronger than he already was? Upon thinking on it for long enough, he came to the realization that physical strength couldn’t solve everything. He requested The Lightweaver to teach him how to put his mind at peace. This took many, many years, but eventually Caim succeeded, and was gifted with the Light Crown. His blue scales had tips of gold on them, from just how powerful he had become. Caim returned to fight the Plague Tribe, and won. His trophy? The once-darkened flies from Emperor Rottenwood circled him, becoming his own. They had an orange glow to them once more, no longer being affected by Emperor Rottenwood.
