Helophyte spent much of her early life stowing away on ships and stealing from better off dragons in Churnscar Wharf, and during that time forged a close bond with Laciport. She encountered Zinna and Kairius during a conflict over both trying to hijack a ship at the same time, which caused them to need to work together to overthrow the crew. They grew closer together while sailing back, and when they encountered Map with his dreams of being a sailor they decided to join the Strangesight Clan as official sailors and treasure hunters.

Laciport is a Raptorik which has been Helophyte's closest ally since they were hatchlings, and the pair would watch out for one another. Laciport's egg was sold to a vendor in the Churnscar Wharf and when she hatch she was left to fend for herself. She's very similar in personality to Helophyte, but can be more patient at times. She enjoys building and crafting, and she often does repairs if anything goes wrong on the ship.
