Formerly a guard at the Fortress of Ends, Atropos once was head guard of an area that contained the cell of a Banescale that had somehow managed not to be frozen, probably because of her inner Ice magic. The Banescale was tame, never causing much trouble, but Icewarden wanted her to remain locked up, so locked up she'll stay.
Or err, that was the plan. Until Larix, Atropos' second in command and honorary sister, somehow fell in love with the imprisoned bane. Atropos found herself with a hard decision in front of her: She could report Larix, get her likely banished, or she could use her position to free the icy Banescale, all for her sister's happiness. Her honor, or her family?
The decision was simple. Using the magic taught to all the guards in case of an emergency, Atropos opened the cell and released the Banescale, Nova. Larix had a plan to go live in a nature clan, one that she knew would take them in. Atropos soon found herself heading across Sornieth as well, before her actions could be discovered. After a long journey by foot, she managed to reach the nature clan. The difference between her old home and this one was... extreme to say the least, but here Larix can be happy and safe, she could be happy and safe, and in the end that's all that really matters.
