Oldest of three brothers, took on full time work to support them after their remaining parent passed in a freak accident.

After their mom passed away, most of their dad’s attention was spent on helping the middle brother with his speech impediment and taking care of the infant youngest brother. Cyn spent a lot of time on his own, liked to watch magic battles and secretly hoped to learn magic one day.

While home alone with the youngest, surrounded by books and instruction pamphlets, he found he could create tiny sparks of light. The youngest was fascinated and overjoyed by the lights, and later told their dad about it. Realizing how neglectful he’d been of his eldest, the father saved up and bought Cyn a finely crafted staff and focus bracelet, and helped him start up his magical studies.

Unfortunately, in the wake of their dad's death, Cyn was left with the responsibility of raising his brothers and sold both his beloved objects to afford medicine for his sickly baby brother. He works most of the day to afford housing, and is home long enough to see his siblings to bed and then off to school in the morning.
