icon_profilecomment.png BLURB

Drat. He was with Hart again. Oh well, that dragon wasn't really an issue. Driel knew he wouldn't interfere. Still...for the first time in his life, Driel wasn't keen in having an audience.

That, however, was loser talk. He didn't plan on losing. Not this time.

He ran out in front of the two Wildclaws and declared, "Poyo, I challenge you to a rematch!"

Hart, however, was the one who responded. "Oh boy. Hey, Poyo, it's your number one fan back for another beat down. This is getting a little sad actually...," he said scratching his neck and grimacing.

Poyo smacked him with his tail.

"Ow!" Hart grunted. "Alright, alright... you wanna waste your time that's fine with me."

As he moved away, Driel squared up in front of Poyo, his rival, his mentor, his target. Poyo humored him as always, and Driel initiated the bout, determined this time to beat the brawler at his own game.

small_scroll.png HISTORY

Unlike his parents, Driel was never really fond of plants. He tried his hand in doing woodworking, but even that seemed hollow. No, there was something much different he preferred doing with his paws than arranging flowers or cutting boards.

Fighting.

Despite his appearance, he was agile and strong and often caught the heftier opponents off-guard. Though he was never in any official or ranking fights, he worked up a reputation in the back alley circuit of brawlers. Learning how to tend to wounds was a must, so he used any meager healing knowledge he had from his times with a clan to patch himself or the occasional friend up. It's rudimentary at best, but it helps with field dressing and made things easier than waiting in line for the local healer.

He started hearing stories of a legendary fighter from the underground being passed around and his interest was piqued. He'd won and lost a million times in this circuit, so maybe a change from allies into an actual, competitive circle of the underground was in order. He went searching, and eventually, he found Poyo - the legendary brawler he had heard so many rumors about.

However, Poyo was long retired and already living at Point Noct. Driel was immensely disappointed to see such a revered fighter living a domestic life with a proper job in border patrol, and he often challenged the more experienced Wildclaw to bouts and spars, but Poyo often refused.

Driel decided he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

Eager to prove himself better than this dragon who had settled and lived the family life, Driel ambushed Poyo and forced his claw. The beating he received was swift, brutal, and humiliating. However, it didn't dampen his spirit. It changed his outlook a little bit, but his spirit remained feisty as ever and he demanded he become Poyo's disciple. Poyo didn't say no, but he was a little irritated that he had a shadow now.

However, their military leader and resort founder Blitzshadow had a rule - never turn down someone who wanted to train in the ways of battle. The clan and their livelihood needed all the strong dragons they could train to protect their borders from invaders or vicious wildlife, so Poyo somewhat reluctantly helped train Driel.

Driel wasn't satisfied with border patrol or escorts, though . . . no, there wasn't much action in that department. However, the tavern always had rowdy customers who had one too many drinks or were getting too handsy with the performers and servers. So, he appointed himself as the tavern's bouncer and took great pride in throwing out anyone who deserved it or who thought they could bully him (or anyone else for that matter) because he was a Skydancer.

He never thought he'd fall for someone who loved plants, but Demelin, the resort's landscaper, reminded him of the thing he refused to admit he missed: home. She had a bit of a feisty streak herself, proving that not all who loved plants were pushovers and she's put him in his place more times than he could count - usually with a verbal lashing more than a physical one. However, they complement each other and have a stable relationship.

icon_newfriend.pngPERSONALITY

He's a tenacious dragon full of heart. Once he sets his mind to something, he'll see it through till the end no matter how long it takes, but he won't step on anyone to get to where he wants. Well, not if they're innocent. If they're trying to stop him, he'll go head to head. Driel knows he's light and quick compared to most opponents, so he tends to get a little arrogant sometimes...

Driel isn't a dragon who likes to remain idle. Helping Demelin with her landscaping is sometimes taxing and boring for him, but he tries his best for his mate. He'd much rather be up and moving about, unlike the plants and wood he grew up with.

DRIEL
Brawler

Plants were always too boring for Driel. Woodworking was better but Driel preferred to use his hands for other matters. Namely, brawling. His lean frame belies surprising strength which he uses to his advantage to catch his opponents off-guard. Driel involves himself in back-alley sort of fights rather than any formal competitions. It’s not unusual to see Driel sporting various bruises and scrapes from his brawls. He does have some rudimentary knowledge of healing which he uses to patch himself up.
