The daughter of two talented members of Beta's Alchemy and Acquisition Divisions, Hex's parents couldn't help but be disappointed when their daughter's ambitions ended at becoming the assistant to a natural scientist of all people. But Hex quite enjoys her work in Redcap's laboratory - even if lately she's been more of an experiment than an employee. As Redcap rarely leaves her lab (or speaks in anything other than ominous muttering), Hex is the scientist's ambassador to the outside world, fetching her mentor food, resources, and project approval from Beta leadership for her increasingly bizarre experiments. Hex couldn't be happier to be of assistance, and won't hear a word against the older Pearlcatcher from anyone, including her parents.

Triton and Jade have expressed concern over their daughter's new... accoutrements... as well as whatever it is that she and Redcap are doing in that bizarre, foul-smelling laboratory. But Hex assures them that she's perfectly comfortable in her current state. After all, what was it her parents always told her when she was a hatchling? "Sharing is caring?"
