JADE "Oh, no, thank Acquisition! They were the ones who were able to find a sample of the newest Flamescale strain. All I had to do was reverse engineer an antidote!"

Jade has lived her life trying to escape the shadows cast by her parents. Named after her mother, who died from Serthis poison only days after her hatching, Jade was kept at a distance by her father, Striker, who was pained by the reminder of his departed mate whenever he saw her look-alike daughter. Though her mother was a talented sorcerer and her father a fearsome warrior, Jade never showed much promise for either magic or combat. When Striker left Beta to fight against the Beastclan menace that had fractured his family, Jade knew that he was disappointed that his daughter wasn't strong enough to go with him. While there was no comfort to be found in her family, Jade could always find a friendly face in Metis, Beta's most senior and accomplished diplomat. Though the Snapper was busy with work, she always had a moment to spare for the lonely hatchling, and she encouraged her young son Triton to cheer up the little Spiral whenever she was away. The childhood friendship bloomed into something more as the two grew up. Though Triton followed in his mother's footsteps as a diplomat while Jade's lingering horror and fascination with potions led her to join the fledgling Alchemy Division, the two stayed close, eventually becoming devoted mates. When raising their daughter, Hex, Jade was very careful to encourage her daughter's independence and self esteem - though seeing what has become of the precocious hatchling now that's she's all grown up, Jade can't help but wonder if she went wrong with her method of parenting. |
