History

Hatching

Formally a Mirror, she was hatched on the outskirts of the Emberglow Hearth. Upon shaking the tough, leathery shell from her scales and taking her first glimpse at the world beyond, she was met with nothing; no parents, no siblings, simply nothing. Nothing aside from a near-endless expanse of igneous rock, lava pools, magma vents, and the quiet, distant murmur of the Dawn.

Early Life

Her whelphood was spent uneventfully. Most of it was spent hunting; coiled burnserpents and ember mice made up the majority of her diet— as her scrawny form hindered the hunting of any large game— though she would occasionally scavenge for discarded zeeba carcasses or herdbeast haunches.

When she wasn't hunting, however, she was exploring; aimlessly wandering across obsidian plains and wading through lava pools, listening to the faint whisper of the Dawn. Sometimes, she would even gaze into the open mouth of the sky, hoping to find the Dawn. It always ended in vain, however, for the sky remained forever clouded by the Flamemother's ash.

Adulthood

The more she consumed, the more she grew, the more she traveled, the louder the call. The Dawn, her constant companion, continued to coo beyond the ash. Though its words were incomprehensible, she understood their meaning; feed me, care for me, love me, and I'm yours. And so, she searched.

And searched.

Until it was found.

Atop a jagged mountain of obsidian, so high it pierces through the layers of ash and into the heavens above, lies the Dawn. Its skin ripples with celestial hues, and its eyes, forever unseeing, gaze into the cosmos above.

Role

Citrus serves as the clan's leader and priestess. She founded the clan in order to spread the message of the coming Dawn and was responsible for 'recruiting' the dragons to be a part of The Faithful. She's aware that not all of her followers truly believe in her cause, branding her a heretic to Sorneith's deities, but she pays them little mind; convinced that, if given enough time and gentle persuasion, she can show them the true path to greatness.

Regardless of how she is viewed, she remains unchallenged. Whether it is out of respect or cowardice is yet to be shown.

Personality

Citrus is kind, perhaps motherly at times, but quiet and calculating. She cares deeply for all her followers, even those who haven't fully devoted themselves to her cause, but her quiet nature leaves much to be desired. She rarely wastes breath, and everything spoken is often thought out and revised a hundred times over beforehand.

Much like her speech, every action is carefully pondered, purposeful, and every outcome accounted for. Nevertheless, she is easily blindsided by those she believes to share her goal.

It's also worth noting that Citrus does not believe in failure. While she prefers plans to go smoothly, she's not above simple trial-and-error in order to accomplish goals and will not stop until they're completed. This mentality is also applied to her followers, causing her to appear encouraging to some, and overbearing to others...
