Yemoja

Yemoja is an orisha of the Yoruba and several Afro-American traditions. She is a spirit of motherhood and the ocean. Her fondness for children led her to take an active role in caring for the clan's hatchlings, helped out by her friend the flying octopus. The octopus is fantastic at child-rearing because it can do a ton of things at once with its several limbs and also it can fly. The octopus is surprisingly good at coaching young dragons how to fly, given that it's a f**king octopus with silly tiny wings and not a dragon or even a terrestrial organism. The fact that this is a fire clan and they live in volcanic caves does make it a bit difficult for the octopus to function, but he's generally fine just hanging around Yemoja because she's an ocean spirit, which helps offset the constant desiccation.

Whenever there aren't any young dragons around to take care of, Yemoja and her octopus enjoy pinball, line dancing, basket weaving, and trying to contact the Flamecaller with a oujia board made of scrap metal.

EDIT: As seems to happen frequently around this lair, the octopus recently underwent an unscheduled metamorphosis into a tardigrade, which makes it harder to teach the little dergs to fly, but they manage.
