Biography
Avokna, you have such a handsome history but i must strip your dignity
you are the fattest bogsneak i have seen thus far
place of honour
Among the Drakakyn of the mountains there is a story passed down through song from generation to generation, a tale as old as time. There once was a young Drakakyn full of life and eager to prove himself worthy to his elders. A great war brewed in the west, he did what any honorable Drakakyn would do and swore his life to the fight. For months, he trained diligently with his peers in preparation to face off with the formidable foes on the main continent.
He flew with his platoon but became lost in a torrential downpour, he was forced to land after injuring a wing. He spent weeks in the wilderness desperately calling for help, but no one heard him. After a month alone, the wing still damaged, he arrived in a village but to his dismay, he was not greeted with excitement.
The villagers had been told he was a deserter, a traitor to their kind. They carved a notch out of his horn as was, and still is, a customary practice for criminals. Before they could do any further damage, he ran away into the forest. He was disowned by his family, any self-respecting Drakakyn who valued their reputation would not dare to help him.
For many decades he lived in solitude in the wild forests, often when a lost traveler approached him to ask for help he would refuse or lead them astray. He became bitter in his old age, illness soon took over him. In his last hours, he was approached by a mighty dragon of old. She knew he had been wronged and offered him a deal. He was to protect the forest and guide lost souls that traveled within. He agreed and with his last breaths he transformed into a stone statue, the dragon spread her wings and spread the name Avokna all across Lados to ensure it would not be forgotten.
It is said that lost and weary souls that leave an offering at the base of the statue will find their way home, those that disturb the forest will only be met with great misfortune.
